Default First trout on the fly in 15 years....

After rediscovering my favorite sport after a 15 year break a buddy and I finnaly got on some trout water and actually caught a few fish. Our day started at 5:30 Thursday a.m. heading to the American river in Sac hoping for some half pounder action, more like half footer action, lol. We got there at 6:30 and started tossing nymphs. I ended up switching to an olive caddis emerger(swinging it) and got into some action, we both got a few fish but they were small(6"-8"). After killing half the day there we headed over to Kiene's for some tying materials as well as reading material, and to pick the guys brains for guidance in the sport. After we were done in Sac I planned on hitting the Truckee but after some advice from the guy at Lake Tahoe Fly Fishing we headed to the West Fork Carson. We saw alot of fish but I only managed one right befor dark, tried everything but ended up getting him on a caddis dry. After that we headed to another friends house in Carson City for a few cold ones and to borrow the couches for the night. In the a.m. we headed for the East Carson to try our luck, worked hard, walked alot and got two each in the last hour of our trip(all 10"-11"). I did have a nice one follow my stone fly nymph on the swing and missed one on a caddis dry. All in all I had a great time with one of my oldes/best friends doing the same thing we did as kids, having fun and catching a few fish too. I do have to say getting some pull on the end of my line makes me want to get out more and practice so I can get into some bigger fish. Here's a few shots from the trip.

Thanks jbird, I finnaly got to try out the camera in some clear water. I was suprised how well it captured the shots for such an inexpensive unit(fuji xp). I tried it on the delta, but no suprise the water was too murky to see anything. I was alone when I caught the fish in the submerged shots so I held the leader and took the pics in the water to try and be as easy on the fish as possible. here's a another shot I like....
