    Default Best BBQ

I have to agree with most that Texas West is not very good.
Suprised no one has mentioned JR's Texas BBQ. Their brisket is very good
and the sandwich portion is almost too much at one time. It's heavily smoked
so you either like it not.

    Another vote for Sandra Dee's
If you also like fried chicken and greens it is my vote for that too.

Not in Sacramento but I know many of you head to the Redding area to fish and for other activities. After tying at the Fly Tying Expo in Redding this last weekend I headed to Famous Dave's BBQ (www.famousdaves.com) near the Costco store area to meet and have dinner with some good friends. It was an excellent choice. I got the 6 rib dinner and it was more than I could eat...leftovers on Monday night. There was a wide variety of saucesa for use right on each table and if you wanted really hot they would bring it at your request. The flavor was superb and the wait staff helpful, friendly and professional. The menu is varied and all BBQ related. I will go back again. I wish one of these restaurants would open in the Sacramento area.

Tex-ass West is terrible, used to live around the corner from one, tried it 3 or 4 times, never any good.
    +1 to that!
