    Default Ahjumawi State Park

Anybody ever paddled or fished there? Heading up in a couple of weeks for a long weekend, and bringing both conventional and fly gear.

Word on the street is that the trout congregate at the cold-water springs, and they are spooky due to the exceptionally clear water. I'm thinking streamers/wet flies on an I-line, but if anybody has any specific beta on tactics, I'd be very appreciative...

    Default It's been awhile...

So this isn't exactly "up-to date" ...I fished "Big Lake" a bunch of years ago, (close to 20 probably) wasted 2 days fishing it before I got smart and started fishing Horr Pond to the west of the launch ramp (take Main Street north in McArther) for topwater largemouth bass along the banks...They ran from 6-10 inches mostly but managed a few 2-3lbs...Other than fishing though, there's good reason to just "be there", especially with a camera....
