Default Planning a low budget trip from Austin Texas

Need some advise. Flying in for my Best friends Birthday in sept. We have narrowed or choices down to a couple choices (unless we get better options). we have the opportunity to stay in a cabin way up in the Highland Lakes area off HWY 4 fishing for small brookies ( I guess ) or camping on the north Fork of the Yuba around Sierra City. we have a window of about 24 hours so were not going to get to do much exploring. He's the stay at home dad with a new born so he's pretty useless in the planning process and i'm trying to get this done from Texas.

    Thanks

Based on your tight timeframe, I'd go with camping on the Yuba. You're on the river, so no time spent driving around, and the river should be fishing great in September due to the heavy snowpack.

I would go with the Yuba, the river between Sierra City and Downieville has been fishing good.
