I am thinking of scouting the upper end just below Lake Valley Reservoir for a half day roughly. Say real early morning or later in the day when the sun gets low and it cools down. This is a small stream(tail water) and small fish. This will be my first go at it up here. I fished this stream below Texas Hill Road about three weeks ago, one early morning, and it was fun. Small uneducated rainbows. The area is Yuba Pass I80 and we can park close to stream but I think it will be work getting up and down the stream. From Sacramento a long half day should be manageable. Anyone interested in going with me this Sunday morning or evening 8/28? If interested, but have another date in mind let me know.

Fished it last year. Most of the trees in the area were burned off in a fire so it's really bare. The stream is OK, but with all the sunshine there's allot of algae.

This was an area just above a diversion dam for a water supply ditch.

thanks Walt. Have you fished from Texas Hill crossing up the stream? I have only been down from there.
