Annual Silver Creek Trip part 3

Our second to last night was really stormy with big thunder clouds around





It was an awesome display of lightning

Soon after I took the video we thought it best to head back up and just as we started a screaming wind hit us and we soon had 1-2 foot white caps that came over our tubes.

I was smart this trip - I do lots of fishing in 1 to 2 feet of water on my knees and it plays hell on breathables with lots of patching!!! So this year I bought a pair of $50 neoprenes from Cabelas - this is after 3 days fishing, so you can imagine what this type fishing does to breathables!!

Rick Jorgensen and Don Rotsma have been making their annual trip to Idaho/Montana for many decades now.

I did get to go with them once which was an extremely exciting adventure for me.

We fished Silver Creek, the Henry's Fork at the Railroad Ranch, the gulpers on Hebgen Lake, the Madison River and then finally the Missouri River.

This was about 1986 because I had just bought a new Suburban.

Rick and Don are serious "match the hatch" fly fishers.....

Both use to guide in CA. Don mostly on Davis Lake and Rick on the Klamath River with a jet boat.

They are both far better fly fishers than I am so it is a real treat to go anywhere with them.
