What the article doesn't mention is that they're close enough to the lake that you can carry a float tube and gear from the camp site versus driving down to the parking lot.
Items of note: no power exists, but they provide a lantern. The water supply for the cabins is some of the finest drinking water I've ever tasted. It's open spigot like the other campsite loops, but is icy cold and worth bottling. In talking with the campground host - a lot of campers are filling jugs and containers full to take back to the City with them ...
Bathrooms are at each end of the loop, one is at the store (flush toilets) - the other at the far end of the loop (open pit).
Had a great time, worth the extra cash.
Thanks for that great information KB

I made reservations back in April for four nights beginning this Saturday. We're usually more of a camping family, but I was worried about epic mosquitoes this year due to the late snow, so opted for some indoor sleeping quarters.
I'm bringing the canoe, so I'm glad to hear about the easy access to Manzanita Lake. Kinda wish I had more time there, but some is better than none. Hopefully the fish will cooperate. I'll stop in the shop in Redding to get the 411 on the way up.
