My barber shared a story this AM of a brown trout fishery at the upper end of Lake Englebright, where current forms from incoming Yuba River. He described catching BIG browns in the 5 to 10 lb. range on BIG wooden plugs painted up to look like rainbow trouts and kokanee. Has anyone in the flyfishing community ever heard of this fishery? Is it seasonal? Any special boat requirements to access this reach? Is it for real or is this just another fish story? I was thinking of throwing Clousers/deceivers much like what are used in the Delta for stripers.
