    Default A nice surprise

Went up to a small little local creek the other week to fish for some dinks, and look who showed up to dine! Had a great time, beautiful creek, nice weather and a lot of little ones eager to pounce on a dry. Decided to dredge a few deeper slots to see if there was anyone a bit bigger than the 6" rainbows and browns we had been hooking. This guy looked like a whale coming out of that little creek, especially compared to all the other fish we'd hooked. Hell of a time trying to chase him down, ducking under logs and having to swerve him around a another log but did manage to get him in say hello before letting him go back to his little hole.

Just goes to show, ya never know who might be lurking down there...

Nice fish. It always amazes me some of the hogs that live in very small waters.

Fantastic fish and photos! I know what it's like to catch a 14" fish from a little creek so I can imagine it was crazy landing that lunker - unforgettable I'm sure!

What a beautiful fish! I always fish those small streams with my 1 wt. and 6x tippet, so I would be in a tough spot if I ever hooked one like that.
