    Default Downieville vs. Battle/Deer

I'm trying to decide between the 2 areas/streams above this weekend. Any advice / information on fishability? N. Fork Yuba near Goodyear Bar looks high -- 1300 CFS vs. an historical average of 300. Deer Creek looks a little better -- 280 vs. 110 avg. Battle 650 vs. 300 avg.

    Thanks in advance.

My wife and I drove the length of Deer Creek today. The flows are certainly higher than usual, but there is plenty of nice water. It looks like it usually does in late May. I saw quite a few folks fishing along the way, but I didn't try my luck as I was heading to another stream where the flows were lower. Had plenty of action with dries fishing for brook trout while my wife read for an hour, but didn't want to push my luck and keep her waiting too long.
