    I also found some decent dry fly action last weekend on some smaller tribs. within 2 hours of Sac; the water is indeed coming into shape in these waters RIGHT NOW!!!; you don't need to drive too far or mess with the holiday mobs anywhere near the "usuals" (i.e., Truckee, Yuba, Carson, Walker, upper Sac, etc.). I'm gonna give it another go this wknd a bit farther north.......see what else I can find.

    I'm headed to 20 Lakes Basin in 3 weeks to take niece and nephew on their 1st Backpacking trip. Surely gonna be one to remember like my first on Lyell Fork in July 1983. Anyone remember the backcountry snow drifts that year?
