I picked up my fire permit at the Fresh Pond ranger station today and noticed the update chalk board noted that the Mormon Emigrant Trail was still closed. I got distracted with a bunch of other questions and forgot to ask if the note was current. Anybody driven up the road? Oh, bait fishing with my son at Ice House.. Fish going in the smoker tomorrow.

I was up there today. Turned around just short of Brown Rock area before Silver Fork Road. I figured seeing a truck stuck in the snow was a good indicator. It will most likely be around the first of July before they go in to clear it. If you do take a trip up there, watch out for debris on the road.

On a side note, North-South Road is open and Camp Ck as well as North Fk Cosumnes are fishable with great water levels right now. I also did some recon on the upper section of Alder Creek and parts of it looked good too. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I'm happy to share any information.
