Thanks for the advice, and good luck on the one-thousandth shad.
Damn Jeff,
Nice going, how are you breaking your rods if I might ask? Fighting fish??
"Did you catch anything".........."No, did you"........
"Hey man, mind if I fish here?"....."Yes"...."Thanks man!"

He's Chinging...
24 last night and 3 duringthe day. I broke the thousand mark. J
eff, all rods broke while casting. Most were due to loading the rod with too heavy of a head/tip. One broke cleanly in top section so I think it might have had a nick. All the others broke in the second section just above the ferrule from the butt section. On the last one I heard a crack when I set the hook and it broke on the next cast. BTW, Chinging = hand stripping fish in.
8 last night. It's either the drop in flow or it's finally starting to wind down.

"Yes, size does matter..."
Got only 4 to hand last night after taking the canoe on the river for the first time. Definitely still fish around, but the action has obviously slowed. Anybody switching to searching for stripers yet in the upper river?
32 last night. I guess they adjusted to the flow change. Johnny Winter with a fire orange thread rib and Type 8 sink tip.
First outing for 2011 for me, been a busy year. Went to chase stripers on the American, lost my big flies, tied on some smaller ones. First fish of the year was a shad. No complaints here.
