Hey Matt- Please keep the location under wraps. Last thing this area needs is a weekly fish report and a Google Earth arrow. Next thing you know someone will be whoring the creek to guided trips. Been there too many times to count. Gorgeous pictures and looks like you had a great trip! I'm happy for your experience!

    +1, well put Ralph.

Matt, I may be calling you next summer.

    Thumbs up Nice!

    Excellent series, Matt.

But in paying full respect to ol' Ish, you should have done the whole thing barefooted and with only a loin cloth.
When all else fails, put down the pole and swim with the dog.

Even in Nor Cal we have some stretches of trout stream that are seldom fished, thank God.

Over my many years of retailing fishing tackle I have run across a few true back country commandos who really pursued the trout on very remote sketches of streams.

Tom Deeble was or is one of those types. He actually used ropes to get into some of these virgin pieces of water. He used a 2 weight rod for those small streams.

Over 20 years ago Steve Rice and a friend where always telling me about places they crawled and slide down into for trout east of here.

Ed Wahl is one of those wild ones too.

I guess I am too old to do any of that now but the photos are breathtaking.....thanks.

I think it is heart warming to know that these out of the way streams will probably be fine for many years to come.

Great post Ralph, I wished more anglers developed this mindset and let others discover for themselves a little bit. That's a huge part of the adventure.
