Newest photo: Seat tacked in place - though I'm not sure I'm happy with the location. I may head to my local trout truck pond tomorrow to see how she floats.

Well, she floats! I do have to reposition the seat a bit, and I may need to choke a cat or two - there was a small claw hole in the seat that kept me from staying out longer than a minute or two. GRR!

At any rate, proof of concept - CHECK! Seems like I'll be sitting high and dry once everything is worked out and it seemed pretty stable while I had air in it.

No, I didn't catch any fish, but that was secondary.

WOW! Is your feet the only thing in the water? Heck this thing could probably even smaller and lighter and still work great!

That photo is a bit misleading as the seat is tilted back a bit, but yeah, the goal was to have the top of the seat about 3" above the waterline with my weight in the seat. I think I nailed that.

Yes, I could probably trim some dimensions here and there but the weight savings would probably be minimal.

    heh...

I need to make another grey one so I can have two others flanking me at all times!

The seat has yet to be attached and I still have to trim the seams and add the attachment points etc. but the whole shebang as seen here is just over 30 ounces - still under the two pound mark - tape, excess fabric, and all.

SHig, you are the man! How small does that thing pack up when deflated? You may have a market for those...

That's friggin outstanding Shig! Staying high-n-dry in that seat will make a difference in those ice cold Sierra lakes. Well done.

    Cheers, Ken

I haven't tried deflating and rolling it up yet, but I'm going to hope that it'll be about 5"x12"? Maybe smaller...
