    Default North Fork Yuba

Has anyone out there fished the North Fork lately?
I'm headed up from Truckee on Saturday and was hoping I could get some feedback as far as what has been working lately. I've heard October Caddis are still in the house. Any other tips/beta would be much appreciated.

    Default 44 degree water

Fished down below Goodyears Bar yesterday and it was a trout ghost town.
I should have known it would probably be a long day when I took a temperature reading at 11AM and the water was 44 degrees.
Three of us fished for about four hours and no one got so much as a "fishy bump". Talked to two other guys in the parking lot and they also got blanked.

I have no idea where those fish go this time of year but they completely disappear.

I messed around that way, a little later in day (3 pm - dark); 48 degree water, 4-5 bumps, (no hookups) - all on very small dries; did see two octobers (that's not very many) - fish did not come up at all for them. Saw one other fisherman (no waders on), saw DFG checking him for license - DFG said he was blanked.

Maybe try some dark small nymphs (pheasant tails) next time.
