I went striper fishing on Saturday with a friend. I was fit to be tied most of the morning with a SE wind and an incoming tide running the opposite direction of every drift I usually fish. Caught quite a few dinks in the AM on many frustrating drifts. The tide started to top out at about noon...we went to a couple of flats I like to fish at slackish tide. Caught a couple of nicer stripers up to 5# and then the suprise....

I hook into a large fish. I knew it was large because of two really slow head shakes...then the run...then the jump??? Wait stripers don't jump! 15 min. later we landed a 24#(on the boga) king salmon. Nice bright male.

Set my new PR on a fly rod.

Sorry no pics...left the camera in the truck.

What is the old saying...You never know unless you go.
