A real report with pics coming soon, but here's a snippet......

Friday: Pit #4 - On the water around 9:30am. Lots of mayflies coming off. Fished usually productive spots for relatively few fish compared to usual Pit standards. Got into more as the day wore on, but it still wasn't what we expected....not for lack of trying. Nothing really big either, although I lost a slab that had to be pushing 18" or so. Pit #5 for an hour or so resulted in a couple dinks.....that's it. On to Lakehead to spend the night......

Sat: Upper Sac - Walked up the tracks a mile or so from Pollard. River is in primo shape. Flows are suprisingly high for this time of year. Just perfect conditions. However, rule #1 is don't start too early. We didn't get any fish until the sun was actually ON the water. We casted to some risers with small stimis, but got most fish nymphing #14 orange poopahs. Green ones worked too. Only saw a couple October Caddis fluttering around. Not many around yet. After Pollard, we hit upper Delta. Not many fish, but I did happen to land a beautiful 18"er. Sunday......downstream from Pollard. Again.....no sun on the water - no fish. Walked back upstream to same spots as Saturday, and got into them once the sun was over the canyon rim.

Real report and pics soon......
