Newbie Here!
Just recently purchased myself a Switch Rod and have had one, one-on-one lesson. Looking for a good spot on the Sacramento River to practice my casting. I live in Chico, Ca and unfortunately do not know the Sac as well as I should. Any suggestions in the area for practice would be appreciated!
If fishing were easy everyone would do it!

head out to the washout. take a left on river road off hwy 32 and follow it a few miles to you get to a dirt road on the right. If you go over big chico creek, you went too far.
easy to wade gravel bar with plenty of current to practice both casts.
