    I think I caught the same fish tonight! I missed another one 5 minutes later that was fresher looking but I think it completley missed the fly on the take as it flew out of the water sideways slashing at the fly as I didn't feel anything on the hookset. I know, bad pic but still camera shopping..... Hatchery fish, just bulldogged me the whole time but took awhile to get him in. 16-17" or so.

    Hey Gup.............that looks like a 5 pounder? Excellent.......

    Why drive anywhere if you can catch them right here on the Lower American River????????

    I think everyone needs to put in some time on our river.

    I am hearing more about Steelhead in the American River now plus lots more salmon in our valley rivers.

    I bet Ryder is REALLY jonesin now to get his spey gear wet.... He coming up anytime soon?

    oh you bet mark! This kid tortures me with picture messages with every fish he lands while i sit in SAT test prep class and daydream about steelhead.

    As soon as November 6th passes I'm free! Thanksgiving is gonna be a week long sleep in the back of the jeep trip....cant wait!

    We can fish the Lower American River from August through June for Steelhead.

    OK.....maybe July too.......
