    Default Lakes Basin Ideas

Anyone have any advice on drive in or hike in (short to medium distance) lakes in the Gold Lake area off of Hwy 49. Will be without watercraft, unfortunately and with a novice ff'er.

    Thanks in advance.

    Woodman,

I live in the Graeagle area, I don't spend too much time fishing the Lakes Basin as Lake Davis is my go to haunt. Fish Gold lake south of the boat ramp early as wind can be a factor, there are many dragonfly nymphs in the lake so that would be a good start. Int. line stripping minnows would be my second option. If it was me I would fish the North Yuba from Kokanee cabins to Bassets, Oct. caddis are out and the fish are always willing to take your fly - Love that river! Best of luck and please post a report if you can.
