I decided to go out and fish in the evening today. I wasnt really expecting much considering it was already 6:40 and there were still rafters floating by. I walked out to a riffle that had been producing some good fish for me in the past week... too bad I couldn't land them. I stepped in and started swinging a soft hackle. After 15 minutes I had pretty much covered all of the water I wanted to fish (I have tried the lower part of the riffle but have never hooked up) Since I still had some sunlight I kept on fishing. I started to think "why am I even fishing here, I have never hooked up down here" My thoughts were interupted by a hard grab, FISH ON!!! After a 2 minute fight I was able to get the fish into shallow water. I landed it, took some pics and off she went! It wasn't the biggest fish but it sure felt good to land a decent fish on my fly rod.
Thanks for the soft hackle Mark!

    Hi Gup

Looks like the Half-pounders are fatter than usual this fall.

Show me your fly next time you are by the shop.

I always love the secret fishing club crap, over a "steelhead" that makes me laugh. If ya'll were smart youl'd have put the GPS on Guppy's bike like I did, during Shad season...
