    Goldens & Green Drakes...

Has anyone seen the last two Big Bugs of June in the immediate Truckee area?

I've been on the BT as low as Hirschdale upstream to mid-Glenshire (the "Toilet Bowl") the last three days....esssentially the "middle" reaches of the BT...this side of the border. I personally have have not seen adult Golden Stoneflies or Western Green Drakes. The latter's bulbous nymphs are definitely present in seinings (looking like their ready to emerge), the former nada...although plenty of yellow stonefly nymphs.

    Frank-
We have seined plenty of small golden stone nymphs but none from the class of 08. Don't pretend to know what happened to them. LY stones have bumper crop. As you say drakes are close - #8 fat black bird's nest is killing.

    Default They are here...

Today I saw three (3) Green Drakes between 12-12:10 PM. I also received a stream-side report of four (4) seen on a pocket-water stretch of the lower Glenshire BT.

    Frank,

I never made it to the truckee, but at this point you should have the "big bugs of July" at you service!
