Thread: Drifts on the South Fork Eel, mainstem Eel.

Default Drifts on the South Fork Eel, mainstem Eel.

Can anyone recommend any drifts on the Eel? I realize a dry period of a week or longer is necessary for river to be fishable. It is nice to get out of boat and fish with the spey rod if possible. Thankyou for any advice!

Most fly shops carry the StreamTime maps.

We have them all at Kiene's.

The original owner/founder did them for drift boat access first time around.

Another cry out for the Streamtime Map. There is lots of access on the SF Eel, but I know there are many more runs that you can only reach from the boat.

Stay clear of the upper drifts on the stream time map, big bend to legget and judge carvers all the way to oak run are only for the experienced or for people who take life and boat for granted regardless of what that map says. Check with the boys at Browns tackle in Garberville, they are super nice guys with some guidance, their not fly guys but will talk your ear off about fishing.Never go by a map alone, the local guides and fisherman know where the obstacles are every season. Check your PM for further info.
