    Default A great time

I have been to 4 or 5 spey claves now as they were only a ½ hour from my old house. What a great event and good time. I am planning on attending this year, as long as my flight stays on the 19th of May.

It is May 14, 15, and 16, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I would love to go but am too busy right now.

    Default Sandy River Spey Clave

On our recent trip to the Sandy 3 weeks ago, Carlo and I stopped in at the Fly Fishing Shop in Welches, sponsor of the event. Meeting Mark Bachmann and Patti Barnes helped me understand why this annual event they host is such a popular and successful endeavor!
These folks live and breathe fly fishing and particularly, the spey game for steelhead. They are organized, at the top of their game regarding innovation, development and stocking all relevant stuff, and, last but certainly not least, genuinely sincere and friendly folks.
We also visited Oxbow Park, where the clave is held- it is a regional park- drop-dead gorgeous, well-maintained and perfect for hosting this type event which draws spey enthusiasts from all over the world.
Most incredibly, it is only 45 minutes from PDX...
If you are a beginning, intermediate or accomplished spey aficionado, you owe it to yourself to go at least once!
