    Default May Anniversary Trip

I have persuaded my non-fishing wife that we should take a 3 week road trip in mid- May for our 30th anniversary.
We are planning to take our truck with camping gear, our dog, and leave Humboldt county on a road trip.
We can go anywhere north to BC or to Washington, Montana, Wyoming, etc.
Any advice from this great Board group would be greatly appreciated!
I live on the Trinity River and flyfish, catch and release, almost everyday if I can.

Have you given any thought to Idaho?

The Clearwater is a beautiful steelhead stream with lots of access. Some of the Forest
Service campgrounds might not open up until Memorial Day - still, should be easy to
find a spot. Might be a problem with spring run-off on some streams.
    Enjoy your trip.

    Talking Trip

If you are interested in Montana, the Bitterroot area would be great. I have a sister who lives in Sula, and they have actually had a small snowfall this winter so the runoff shouldn'd be so high. If you take 93 north you could fish the Salmon in Id. My wife and I fish the Main Bitterroot, but deffinitely check out the West Fork of the Bitterroot outside of Darby. You will find Browns. Rainbows, Cutts, Brookies, and the occasional Bull. P.M. me if you need more info.
