    Default Winter Deschutes?

I'm heading up to Bend for a ski trip with my family, but will probably sneak away for a day or two with my uncle to fish. I just completed my spey setup with a new reel and wanted to check out the Deschutes around Warm Springs before the river closes at the end of the year. I talked to the riffly fly shop and the patient angler and will probly stop in at one while im up there. Just wanted to know if there were anyother tips out there, there isnt much info on the internet about december steelheading on the D.

    THanks!

go to maupin. the drive is longer but there is alot mor water to fish in the area. Just follow the access roads. There is literally tons of good water in the area. just keep in mind it will be very cold.

Other options would be the Crooked River. Probably going to catch a lot of whitefish this time of year with a few trout mixed in.

Also check out the Metolius River. Going to be cold but the scenery is worth the trip.

If you head into Maupin stop by the Deschutes Angler. They have a great fishing report and new blog that is regularly updated.
