Mike Costello will be at Kiene's Fly Shop in Sacramento on Saturday, December 19, 2009 to sign his new book, "Fly Fishing The California Delta" by No Nonesense Books.

It was a good day with lots of excellent info about fishing the Delta from Mike Costello, Kevin Doran, Charlie Bisharat and Mike McKenzie.

Chili dogs were a hit, thanks to Charlie Gonzales.

I had lots of fun chatting with Capt. Costello. What a great guy! He was more than willing to share tips and tactics that he uses daily.

As I was going through my copy of the book (which is awesome!) last night I noticed that the recipe for the Pole Dancer is included. Does this mean they will be selling the "head" so that we can build our own? Anyone know?

Is was real nice to chat with Mr. KD as always and to meet and talk with Mr. Bisharat was very nice. I hope to see his top water frog he has for fishing the scum water available in the future, that is a fly I would love to fish with.

As for Mr. Charlie G and his cooking, all I can say is I wish I had brought a tupperware to take some of that chili home I could sure go for a bowl of it right now.

Dan and I just wanted to say that we had a great time at Mike Costello's book signing. His book is an invaluable tool for any fly fisher who pursues fishing in the Delta. Our best wishes to Mike on his book! It was great to see everyone! Charlie's Chili was great! Many thanks to Jason Hartwick for lending Dan the Spey rods so he could try them out at Watt Avenue. Dan really liked the Beulah rods and as a result just had to have the Beulah Platinum 12' 6" #6 Spey Rod which we purchased that day for his early Christmas present!!! As always Bill and Marilyn ran a first class event!
