    Default Upper Klamath Information

Morning Guys: My fishing partner starts a new job next Monday, so we decided to drive up to Yreka tonight and head West on 96 with a Streamtime map in hand first light tomorrow morning. We have fished the Trinity for the last 7 years (indicator and some swinging wets with a floating line), but neither one of us has fished the Klamath. We will be wading. Does have any recomendations as to how far down 96 we should be going to potentially run into some steelhead? Thanks very much. -Rob Andris

Wading the Klamath is tough. I know the middle part very well and without a drift boat, I'd be lost as to give details on wading spots.

I'd go down to the Happy Camp area. One spot I can think of is Chambers Flat, which is on the Stream Time map. Work as far upstream as you can and if you have a Spey rod try to hit the far side of the river.

Good luck and post a report. I'm getting the itch to head up there soon...
