Weeds: They're totally not an issue for flyfishing. Most of the lake is between 2 and 5 feet to the tops of the weeds with a few deeper spots.

Had a great day with Scott V there today to the point that my arm is sore. I feel a little dirty that I used the "birds" (sight fishing bait guys) to find the fish. Once I found them though, it was ON!

This years lucky winner will receive not only a trophy and bragging rights, but I am throwing in a William Joseph wading belt/utility belt/stripping basket.

And remember measure in time is 1:00 at the first launch ramp as you pull up to the lake. If you do not know what I look like, just look for the Mini Black Pearl owned by Ed and I should be close around. I am not sure if I will be fishing from my bright orange pontoon or out of a drift boat. But one thing is for sureI will be wearing my Olive colored Kiene's Fly Shop hat.

For the people that are tying a wiggle tail I found this article by Jay Fair.....multi....color fly.... http://sierrastreamflyshop.com/image...er-JayFair.pdf ......so Scott is it ok to use a multi...color fly for the derby?????

You can use a multi color fly but they should all look alike, do your best to make them look the same. If you feel your flies look identical then I trust your judgement.
