We are still reeling down here in SoCal from last week's "Blue Ribbon" hearings in Long
Beach. The anti-fishing bunch are trying hard to finish this process before Arnold leaves
office. If you think the oil lady is bad, do a little research into Meg Caldwell and Michael
Sutton - both firmly in the pockets of "The Packard Foundation." Both refuse to recuse
themselves from the process despite very obvious conflicts-of-interest. The whole
process would have died some time ago without the infusion of millions of dollars from
Packard Foundation and Resources Legacy people. The Packard folks are primary
funders of the Monterrey Aquarium. My guess is that the Aquarium's ocean take is more than that of all of the shore fisherman.
On a personal note; it looks like I will lose about half-mile of my LaJolla - Blacks Beach
stretch (just north of Scripps Pier) and several miles a bit to the north - SeaSide and San
Elijo. Bummer! Some are saying - "It could have been worse." It may get that way
    before they're through.
