Talking 10/19 in the rain ....

Hit everyone's favorite North Delta tubin' water this morning w/ Ted - you know the spot ..... Whales , Sea Lions , Grain silos , etc. .

Forecast called for early showers , clear afternoon , and rain tonight - we had showers until 1:00 and a steady/pesky East wind . Also two freakin' BIG Sea Lions out there (no , didn't get close enough to measure them .... we hid in shoreline weeds when they came close) .

    Landed 4 to 20 inches , + a bonus LMB .

Used a 6 wt. , 225 GR line , and all-White Clousers . Fish were VERY negative , hit lightly on the drop . Small amount of bait seen , all happy .

    That's it !!

    (P.S. - I won't bother to report how poorly we did on Friday/Saturday ....)

Just 'cause the "OLD gent" ( "gent" used very loosely!) you were with was in the "twilight" of his years here on earth and was WAY too slow to connect on his top-water striper opportunities is slim reason for ill record. Seems a couple stripes, one a very nice hot fish, were procured from the bow area of the vessel that was shared.
I DO know I learned a bunch this w/e.......a VERY difficult endeaver for an OLD eyetalian, indeed.
AND, a grand time was had by all......ya hear!

    Lee -

EVERY DAY with you is a fun one ! I'm still sore from my 10,000 casts for TWO fish , though ..... so I figured the two days of Canoe madness didn't deserve a fishing report for MY score !

Whatdidja land ?? Like , 15 or 20 LMB on top ?? You had a pretty good trip , fish-count wise .... even pulling one from the 'dead sea' (Pond #5) .

    I , of course , learned a bunch of things , as well -

Your Canoe hurts my arse .

It sucks being down-wind (already knew that one .... YEOW !) .

Watching is just as fun as catching .

The simple way is better .

Dead Carp smell . They smell really bad .

Algae blooms are NO BUENO .

It IS possible to laugh until it hurts .

Happy Shad are depressing to watch .

Stripers are really fun w/ a dry line and waking fly .

Bullshitting with the right person is a fine Art form .

Thanks again for the visit - we'll get 'em next time !!!!
