Thread: huge steelhead caught near sac.

    Lil Striper, the doubters have to be expected and for good reason, a steelhead that large would be rare indeed this time of year. Most of us probably think large steelhead in January this far up the system and even then thats a pig, but anything is possible, if you have pics that would be great. With due respect, not sure where the bass story fits in here, whether it proves to be true or not can't see this posted as or meant to be a hoax.

    L.S., no offense meant with that. Just offering up another fish story that I read about years ago.

    Not intended to be relevant, just humorous.

    That's a nice buck but a couple of things come to mind...

    #1) although that would be a chromer by 'fishsniffer-standards...'

    It's obviously been out of the salt for at least a month (note black on operculum) which would be a bit strange for any local valley or coastal strain of steelhead (in early September)

    #2) 22#? is that scale working right?
