Costs more than if made of solid gold. Seems kind of heavy for that price

Played with the reel today and it is light. Nice piece of work, but I have yet to decide how I would use it. I am thinking I would have to pawn it for the lawyer I would need once my wife found out about it.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

    Bill,

You only have one in stock?
I know the economy is in the tank and all, but only one?

I hope this reel is on loan from Hardy!

If I saw someone using that reel I think I would really laugh. $8000! What a joke! What is Hardy thinking? Even their new perfects are way too expensive. I love the old reels, but this is outrageous.

I'd be afraid to touch it - don't know what I'd do if I dropped it.
Years ago a buddy handed me a Wheatley fly box in a shop and when
I saw the price I nearly gagged, but this is in an entirely different
realm. Even Sevi Cimaroli would roll over in his grave.

    Default Hardy Unobtanium Reel

When I was racing dirtbikes, to lighten them, guys would buy aftermarket titanium parts to lighten thier bikes up. They did not like to hear that it was cheaper to go on a diet and shed 10 lbs, then it was to shed 5 lbs. of weight with titanium. We call it Unobtainiom! To much for too little. I'll stick with any of the well made AMERICAN products.
