Anyone heard any reports from the rogue river near medford. Will be up there from the 6-9 skating muddlers.
also, does anyone know how much of a backcast you have there? really don't want to use a 2 hand rod....
Thanks in advance

My old buddy Al Perryman fishes it all the time now because he lives there.
July, August and September are pretty warm for Summer Steelhead so real early and late are the best deal.
He gets on the water right now just as you can barely se and fishes for about an hour befroe going to work.
I will check with him.

Darrin,
A buddy in Talent has hooked a couple this summer swinging flies early am. He is also getting reports from the "locals" up there who are finding a fish now and then, mostly fishing 5 to 7am. I don't think it is on fire by any stretch, but with three days to pound the water, I think you have a good shot at hooking up. I think you will be fine with the single hander. Good luck! Matt.
I posted this before I spotted your thread. There are reportedly 3500 fish in the Upper Rogue already and the fishing is good but the flows are still high to bring the salmon up stream.
