    Default AR Stripers

All these recent reports got me motivated to try for some stripers after work.
I did not have anyone lined up to fish with, so I left the boat in the shop and just waded out and fished the Watt ave. bridge with a sink tip and some clousers. Had 2 large fish part the leader on the grab, donated 2 clousers, but landed these two. Now I kick myself for not exploring this more frequently.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to all the people who posted the reports & pics that got me off my ass afterwork, and got me out fishing!

I think more people need to wade for Stripers in the Lower American River.

    Thanks for the great post...........

    Nice report,

I think you just motivated me as well to get out and wade for stripers.

Although, I have never fished for them before I do have a large assortment of lines that should work.

One question if you don't mind, you mentioned that you used a sink tip. What type and sink rate?
If he had it his way nobody who did not know how to catch a fish would be allowed to disgrace a fish by catching it

    Default Sink-tip

    Fochetti
I would use a fast sink rate with a floating running line....
Like a Teene Brand (type 7) to match your rod grain wt.
If you don't have a type 7 you can get down a little more by using a heavy fly.
If you are using interchangeable tips I would also have an INT. tip available for Top water flies and very shallow areas....
I would also suggest using no less than 15# leader and tippet
