    Default Stripers last night

Went to the AR for stripers last night with Paul Egan. (first time for stripers) .What a blast,he said this could be addictive. Yikes!! After a few pointers and bringing several smaller ones to the boat and being reminder "we don't count those" and how not to shatter a rod.We went after some stripers. Here are a few pics with the second being a double. We fished streamers mostly and topwater later in the day. (Robin that TFO 8wt casts really nice by the way, but, the grip needs a little sanding LOL)

    Default Big Grabs!!!!!

we have been using some different flies this year....
some really big fish have come on the Air Head and, the Striper Caviar.
the Striper Caviar is now available through Targus Flies at Kiene's this fly was designed by Andy he can tell you about it if you call or visit the shop.

I have been using the middle size air head in silver or green and using pen-tone markers to paint them to look like a rainbow or steelhead smelt.

I have also been using the Eganator but with the size 1 hook it has not been hooking the larger fish good enough to get them to the boat. they eat it well enough but getting, that small of a hook to grab something in that big bony mouth is another thing.

the Air head is a very good fly because you can through it with a lighter rod than most flies of it's size and it has a very sharp hook right out of the box.

Andys striper caviar has caught more big fish in the American than any other. Targus is doing a great job with them.

The Airhead consitently puts fish in the boat also. We picked up a 10lb'r last week on it, and Ed got one of his fish on a small grey and white this week on an I line. Make sure you use a loop knot with it to give it the most action.

The third fly I throw is my own rainbow clouser. Its blend of bucktail and Farrar blend.
