    Default mayfly hitching a ride

    So I'm taking the trash out this morning around 7:00 and what do I see on my daughter's car:



    (and rotated for viewing convenience)



    I'm miles from the nearest pond/lake/river water source, and I don't know bugs well enough, but is it normal for these mayflies to be that far from home? Thanks!

    You would be surprised where they show up. I had a march brown on my shoulder once walking downtown Portland OR.
