CFFU Presents “Shad on a Spey Rod” Tues. May 5

Doug Duncan, from the Orvis shop at The Fountains in Roseville, will present fly fishing for Shad on switch rods, two-handed Spey rods, and fly rods at the CFFU meeting Tuesday May 5. Remember Shad are just around the corner, this talk may give you some needed information for a successful Shad fly fishing trip.

Doug Duncan has enjoyed chasing Steelhead throughout the west with two-handed spey rods. Doug is a tournament spey caster, and in 2007 and 2008 he placed second at the international spey competition in San Francisco, losing to the best spey caster in the world by only six feet.

A fly casting clinic and fly tying demonstration by club members will start at 6:15 pm Tuesday May 5th, with the business meeting starting at 7 pm. The meeting is held at Camp Pollock (Boy Scout Camp), 1501 Northgate Blvd., Sacramento. Guests interested in fly fishing are welcome to attend.
