Thumbs up Bac on the Sac

so i get the call last Night around 5pm that I don't have to work today

Since I have been up from 1:00am check the battery chargers and go to bed

    Ok now it's Tuesday morning...
Get the Wife off to work and the kid off to school
    start making phone calls........
    one..two...three....and so on
I called at least 8 people either no answer or they could not go......
I was nervous about launching by myself at Tisdale... with the wind blowing 20-30 it would only make it worse.....

I decide to brave it alone anyway......
I launch about 11:30 that went ok... only about 10 trailers in the lot

I did some looking around at shore lines, shelves and, pockets....
all the way up past Grimes......
I started fishing around 2pm Drifting (blowing) down stream(wind)....
I get my first Grab Just before 3 and cast right back at him and whamo!! Fish on!!!!!
    Just a little over 3#'s
What a great way to spend a day off work.....
I fished back down to the ramp hitting the spots where I could cast and steer at the same time and by 5:30 I was on the trailer with
    a 3#'er a 5#'er and a 9#'er all released to fight another day......
arrived home to find robin pulling in the drive way with dinner......

some People have been asking about the fly I am using and being I did not take any fish picks here is a shot of the fly.....

yea for some of us It"s a 6wt fly.....
    Paul....
    Tight lines to all
And, to all a good Fight!!!!!

    Great post Paul....

That looks like a killer fly.

Shane says that April and May are the popular months up there but June can be good too.

of me holding the fish I catch....

    Default Thanks for the info!

Paul, we talked at Kiene's expo. I went out Sunday afternoon and fished from 3 til dark. The fishing had dropped off for everyone. I saw only one fish caught, a dink, until my last drift of the night on the ledge you were talking about at the end of our discussion. I saw a few fish swirling in the waning light in the shallows a couple of casts above the swirls...finally caught my first river striper a 7# hen. I thought the skunk was on. Thanks for the information...I am over my uncertainty of fishing the river. A whole new season is now open.
