    Hey Ken,

Get well soon and we are wishing you a speedy recovery!

When all this is behind you lets get out and fish. You name the location I'll provide the boat, flies and food!

Be good, be safe and get well!

    Your bud,

    Ken,

I started tying about 17/18 years ago. I loved fly fishing and really wanted to start tying my own flies. My wife got me a fly tying kit and a little wire bound book called “California - Fly Tying & Fishing” by Ken Hanley. Tied a lot of flies from that book and still have my copy.

I saw this commercial once wherein a guy is running down a street. In a literal sense, this guy has all these things representing daily life piled on him. Stuff like desks, computers, office equipment and such. As he is running down the street these things start falling off of him until it’s just him enjoying his run. It is kind of like that for me as I head to the river. Life’s burdens fall off and there is respite. Unfortunately, but necessarily, I pick those burdens back up as I return home. I can write on and on about what fly fishing and tying mean to me but I tell you this for a reason. That little book, with its easy to tie but very effective patterns, helped me start something that has provided enjoyment going on two decades now.

Thank you for your work and get well, Jim P.

It's hard to keep someone as tough as Ken down for long.

We still need him to educate and inspire us.

    God bless you Ken.
