    Default Crappie & White Bass

We need water in TX bad! Lakes are really low and rivers are barely running. I fished the "Perd" the other day (Pedernales River) and got into about 25 crappie, some keepers (over 10") and one white bass. I am fishing with my new ultralight spin/fly combo - what a hoot. My setup is an Avid 6' 2pc. 3 weight blank, wound up as a spinning rod. I can also use it as a fly rod (I do). My buddies and I buy old Orvis 50A, Alcedo Micron, and Cargem reels, promptly devalue them by cutting off the bail, and fill the spool with 12#backing. Last but not least we finish off with a full spool of 5x or 6x tippet and cast 1/16, 1/32 and even 1/64 ounce jigs, YoZuri Snap beans and other ultralight lures and flies. It is lots of fun. I will post a picture soon. Brett
