    Default It's October............what can I say?

I hope we can all get out some very soon before mother nature takes us into that really cold winter season.

This is a magic time for fly fishing.

Almost everything is good because it's not too hot and not too cold, yet.

It's trout, steelhead, warm water and striper time all at once.

It would be salmon too but they are really off this fall.

...big changes in the weather expected toward the end of the
    week and through the weekend...

A very cold and wintry low pressure system will drop into the
western united states thursday...bringing a drastic change to the
weather across our region. A very strong cold front is expected to
move through the area thursday...with temperatures dropping nearly
25 degrees by friday and saturday.

Temperatures behind the cold front thursday will only get into the
upper 40s and lower 50s in the valleys...with near freezing
temperatures in the high sierra. A hard freeze is expected friday
night and saturday as temperatures drop into the 20s in western
nevada valleys and teens in the sierra.

Although significant precipitation is not expected with this
system...scattered snow showers may lead to light snow
accumulations in the sierra and valley floors of western nevada
    and eastern california.

People need to plan accordingly for this abrupt change to colder
conditions. Temperature sensitive plants and animals should be
protected or taken inside. Also water sprinkler systems and
outdoor pipes should be wrapped...covered up...or drained as to
avoid any damage from freezing water.
Steelhead gear = $6287, no of adults caught = 3, amortized cost = $2,095.67, beaching that 30" fish and letting it go = priceless
