    Default Unnamed Oregon Lake

Monday went with my neighbor stillwater fishing at an unnamed public lake. Basically using an intermediate line and small seal buggers. First four hours were very slow with my neighbor taking a 4# fish and I had two grabs and a 10" fish.

We then moved and almost immediately hooked and lost a big fish. Then hooked the largest trout of my life. This fish on a continuous run took all my fly line and fifty yards of backing and straightened the hook. I have caught a ton of big trout in New Zealand but this was bigger than anything there. My guess would be in the 12-14 pound range.

About ten minutes later caught and released this fish. Both this and the next fish were 28" long.

Then on the very next cast took his twin.

Then hooked & lost another good sized fish and finished the day with a 15" fish. Saw one other boat all day. Not many public waters in the US where you can hook three fish in the ten pound range in a day. All the takes were very soft with one exception.

Gordon, that's awesome! Getting one once in a while is one thing but getting multiples in one day, that's something else.
