Default Ethanol and fiberglass fuel tanks.....

Have any of you run into a problem with the additive ethanol and your gas tanks? I've got a Pate fiberglass 18 gallon gas tank I had installed on my new Montauk Whaler back in 2006 - it wasn't cheap about $400.00 installed. Now I'm hearing nightmare stories regarding the break down of the fiberglass due to the alcohol now in gas from tanks leaking to motors fowling from the discharge. It seems that all gas in California now has some ethanol in it. No problems so far but I'd sure hate to have to replace that tank. Have any of you found a way around this?

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.

Check the Marine dealers for sure but I have heard that "StarTron" is a fuel additive that helps prevent problems.
