Default Reflections on ISE Sacramento .

Brace yourself .... this is gonna be a long one .

I've avoided the ISE shows for several years now - most of the time , I've felt that they had little to offer me (no need for a $$$$ trip I can't afford , don't need a new rod/boat/etc.) . I was wrong .

Having tyed flies at ISE Sac for the past four days , I couldn't be more happy at the moment . I met up w/ old friends I haven't seen for a while , met hundreds of really neat people that enjoyed learning things about flies , and I made new friends that I hope I will be able interact with for many more years . Here's a few shots of folks and things that happened ....

My friends Dan Blanton and Richard Anderson chattering -

Pete Peterson and his pal , Vicki -

Mind-boggling work from Steve Potter -

Rod Builder (and great guy) Larry Lee -

Wayne Chubb and Bill Carnazzo -

    End of the show -

ALL the tyers were black belts (a few were 7th-degree black belts) , I heard no stupid questions (there are NO stupid questions) , I learned a bunch of new things , and I saw the joy of people learning . That matters .

Quite a few Kienes board folks there - I had the chance to chatter with Nip , Darian , Nightgoat , Scott V. , Chris V. , Ed , MSP and a mess of others (including more than a few who lurk without posting ..... now , you've met someone else from the board - get talkin'/posting !!) .

Thanks to Bill Carnazzo for inviting me .

Bill Kiene , for allowing me to give away flies

most of all .... thanks to the Tyers , who made a nobody/no name tyer feel welcome - I'll never forget this show !

That's a great post David. The shows are always much more than just looking for deals. Glad to see you enjoyed a new perspective. Well done.

I don't think David enjoyed himself at all. .
