    Default Saw these on the American last week

    Seeing as I know little to nothing about insects, can someone please identify these for me. I am also guessing that they are what the steelheads are eating.

    The first one is a lacewing. The second one is a mayfly. I can't tell tell for sure from the photo, but I will guess a blue wing olive.

    I was wondering how those pics would turn out.

    My dirty car does not make a suitable background for those pics, but the dirt patterns are kind of neat to stare at.

    As to the second part of your question, the steelhead are definitely feeding on those little mayflies. Couldn't say about the Lacewings. Ed

    lacewing larva eat aphids and they don't really have hatches although there are usually a number of them flying around at all times.... If you pick them up they emit a nice smell too.....
