Default Chili Bar on the S. Fork of the American

Does anybody ever fish the S. Fork at Chili Bar / the 193 bridge?

I stopped there last night for a quick half hour scouting trip on the way back from Caples Lake. At 6:00 the air was in the 90's but the water was a brisk 54 degrees--and flowing pretty good. I assume part of the flow issue was from running the generators upstream full tilt to keep our A/C running down in the valley.

Anyway, pretty water w/ great clarity and some depth to it. However, saw no bugs and no fish in the short time I was there. Looks like it could be a fun place for a quickie evening trip if there are any fish in there.

Anybody know anything they're willing to share?

We fished there years ago when you could fish above the bridge all the way up around the corner to the dam. I don't know if that possible now?

We also use to park below the bridge at the store/RV park for $1.00 and fish our way downstream for miles. I don't know if this is possible either.
