    Default Outstanding Winston Service

Early in January I picked up a used (really used) Winston Fiberglass Rod - 9' 7 wt. The rod was in need of re-wraping of some guides & the hook keeper, and turning the grip from a (traditional) half wells to a half wells that that I like which tapers right down to the diameter of the reel seat. I dropped the rod off at Winston where Kay and her team in the repair shop, cleaned up the rod, re-wrapped the guides, turned down the grip and re-did the information above the grip so it could be read again (scrapes & dings on the original), replaced the trophy decal, plus, she found a (barely) used Winston tube and sock for the rod. The cost of this complete restoration (and tube & sock) by Winston was less than a tank of gas for my truck. Those folks know how to take care of the "old" fiberglass rods.

That's awesome Paul....now we'll need to know how it casts. I've never casted a fiberglass rod.

Some great customer service, I'd say!
