Default Bill Carnazzo will be tying his October Caddis series.

On Saturday, September 22, 2007, Bill will be at our shop tying and talking about fishing his famous series of October Caddis patterns.

Bill is one of the top guides in Nor Cal and has a place in Dunsmuir.

He has some of his top patterns tied commercially by Spirit River Company so we have a good selection of them in stock now.

This is a free event so be sure to come and bring anyone who is interested.

    Bill

I have been tying a cased caddis for over 15yrs that looks just like the one on the right. They are easy and deadly effective for trout and steelhead. You can vary the color of the collar to match the caddis pupa. They get more effective after theyve been chewed a few times. The dubbing I use for the case is muskrat. Glad to see that fly out there!

I had the great pleasure of having long-time board guy Matt Frey come and visit today .

We got on the A and KILLED the small Steelies , went to the shop and had Bill show us the ins and outs of October Caddis , and had BBQ /Beers and chattered all night long .

Bill was his usual graceful self - he took the questions (no matter how banal they were) and helped everyone understand the why's and how's of how these flies work . Beyond cool ....... !

We had a wedding to go to which was actually tons of fun so I couldn't be there.

Glad some came and had a good time.

As David said he and I did a little fishing and then went to the shop to watch Bill tie his October Caddis. I am still relatively new to fly tying and asked Bill a ton of questions. He was a really nice guy and was super patient and answered all my questions.

DAVID: BANAL? I didnt think my questions were that bad. Also, you forgot to tell me where you got those orange beads.

Between the tricks I learned from Bill and David yesterday, I feel like I am a better fly tyer then I was 2 days ago. Cant wait to try to tie up those cased caddis patterns.

Thank you very much Bill Carnazzo, David Lee and Bill Kiene!

David and Matt, Bill C. is apparantly a lot more patient than the average guy. I showed up around 10:30 or so, a little late. Bill went back and showed me the patterns that I missed as well as take on all the questions we could throw at him, then you two had at him. Maybe we should buy him a bottle of whatever he drinks, and maybe even help him drink it. Thanks for the demo Bill, a really excellent job. Ed
Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Jake: Hit it.
